Acrylic acid based dispersing agents and their application in water treatment

In all industrial units the accumulation of unwanted sediments as crust on the surface of equipment is an unavoidable phenomenon. Sedimentation of these materials causes numerous problems such as clogging of the pipes and pumps, breakdown of the heat exchange system and consequently, increasing costs. Proposed methods for controlling the formation of sediment can be indicated by the use of acids, catalysts and sediment inhibitors, among which the use of inhibitors is the most effective method used today.

Acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and / or maleic acid conjugates, along with a wide range of other auxiliary monomers (including styrene sulfone, 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid, acrylamide, acrylic esters, etc.) have a function suitable for use in steam boilers, cooling towers, oilfields and refrigeration processes (in thermal and membrane methods). In this paper, due to the importance of using these materials in all industrial units using water as a heat transfer factor, they have investigated the role of the chemicals used in the water treatment industry.
